MEET THE 3TS TEAM

Alina Georgescu, Investment Manager, Catalyst Romania

Alina is Romanian and she joined 3TS in 2016 as part of the Catalyst Romania team based in Bucharest. She is responsible for screening the market for investment opportunities, supporting portfolio companies, and managing many aspects of investor relations, fundraising and reporting. She is also participating in board meetings of portfolio companies and assisted a couple of exits, namely SmartBill’s sale to Visma in 2020 and Vector Watch’s sale to Fitbit in 2017.

With more than 10 years of experience in entrepreneurship, economics and investments, Alina started her career working for a couple of senators in the Romanian Parliament as an economic consultant and later interning in the German Parliament. She then decided to establish her own small consultancy which was part of a consortium for a €2m European-funded project. Her passion for women’s clothing later led her to co-found a fashion online store, where she gained hands-on e-commerce experience and enhanced her business and marketing skills. Alina sold both of her businesses to high-net-worth buyers from her network. She also currently serves on the board of Elite Business Women investment fund, a financing program dedicated to Romanian female entrepreneurs.

Alina holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Bucharest Academy of Economical Studies. She is married and a proud mother of a 2 years old son. Her black cat and Golden Retriever dog (yin and yang as she likes to call them) are also considered part of the family. She loves traveling, music, playing piano and going to concerts and musicals.
