Catalyst Romania Launches Fund II with backing of 3TS Capital Partners, EIF and Private Investors
We are delighted to announce that Catalyst Romania, sponsored by 3TS Capital Partners, had the first closing of its 2nd-generation technology focused venture capital fund for Romania and the neighboring countries. It builds on the success of Catalyst Romania Fund I and will primarily invest in expansion stage ICT and technology enabled services companies, that already have launched products into their target markets, generate revenues and are led by strong management teams. For the first time in Romania, a venture capital team succeeded in raising a successor fund.
Fund II has a target size of €40-50 million, out of which €15m has been committed by the European Investment Fund (EIF) from JEREMIE Reflows and EIF’s InnovFin Equity Programme. The rest of the capital in the first closing of €26 million was secured from more than 30 private investors – seasoned local entrepreneurs and senior executives from various industries, including a number of portfolio companies’ founders from Catalyst’s first fund.
